Let's take another stroll down memory lane...
My daughter Kelsie and I were watching a repeat episode of Mad Men and someone on the show sang "Hello My Baby..." Come on, sing it out loud in that voice. Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime gal...
I told Kelsie that song was on a cartoon I watched when I was little. It was about a singing and dancing frog who only sang for one person. The man attempted to make money on the talented frog, but he only sang for him.
Do you remember that cartoon? If not, Click HERE for the link to the you tube video for a blast from the past.
What was your favorite cartoon when you were little?

I love music. I listen to it in the car all the time and it's on at work all day long. Oddly though, I rarely play music when I'm at home and I don't have one song on my iPhone...not one. I'm going to change that though.
My style of music is like my blog...all over the place. My blog has sewing, crafting, cooking, blogging, recycling, decorating etc.
My taste in music is just as varied. I love music from all eras.
From Frank...
To Flo Rida...
Favorites are...Frank Sinatra singing Summer Wind, Bobby Darin singing Mack the Knife and Beyond theSea, but I also love Flo Rida singing Good Feeling and Wild Ones.
My "going out" dancing days were in the 80's, so love all those club songs too!!
Music is a powerful tool...it can bring up every emotion we have. We laugh to it, sing to it and even cry to it.
What's your favorite style of music or are you all over the place like me? Do you have one absolute favorite song and what is it?

When you were little, did you ever have a special thought, dream or wish about something? I know as children we all have many "wishes", but I remember and still think of one once in a while.
It's a street name that I always wanted to live on when I was little. Mind you, it wasn't even a street that was in the town where we lived...just a street that I thought would be cute to live on.
I always wanted to live on 2 Blueberry Lane...silly wish, but a child's wish none the less.
Just so darn cute!!
It will be funny if any of you live on Blueberry Lane and even better if it's 2 Blueberry Lane!!
How about you...any silly childhood wishes and did any one's wish come true??

Vacations...some people call them holidays. Whatever the name, we love and need them!
We have always been a Disney family...love it there. To do it up first class would be wonderful.
However, we've always wanted to drive across the country and visit every state. Drive in a big comfy RV, stay in the best hotels, eat yummy food and explore the country!
Ahhh...a girl can dream, right?
If you didn't have to worry about money or time, where would you go on your "Dream Vacation"?

There are so many different kinds of Easter candy in the world. However, there are some that are always in my daughters' Easter baskets...no matter what their age.
Yummy Cadbury Eggs (hey, who bit that one?)...I think these are always in their baskets, because they're my absolute favorite!!
Peeps are definitely in their baskets...not to eat, but to puff up in the microwave. I know this sounds crazy. We've been doing it since they were little. Just a funny little game to watch them blow up like balloons. LOL !!
Did you know just a few seconds (I think 10 or so seconds) in the microwave...depending on your microwave...will puff up these little cuties and then they shrink down to nothing. Don't go too long, may brown too much, smell burned and glue itself to the plate like hardened sugar!! This is experience talking.
Don't let the kids do this though...adults only! The sugar can get hot. No eating after.
Great memories of 2 little girls laughing so hard as the peeps rise up in the microwave. They are 19 and 20 and we still do this! It's a tradition now.
Other must haves in the basket...
Russell Stover's solid bunnies...one milk chocolate and one crispy
hollow chocolate bunnies so they can bite off the ears and see inside
peanut butter eggs
Easter M&Ms
Not so many toys any more, now that they are in college, but I still add something fun just for old time sake.
Did you have a penny candy store near you when you were growing up? The store where I grew up was called Bettez Candy Store and was literally the "corner" store. Even the door was on the corner of the building...on an angle. So cute, now that I think about it!! The screen door slammed when it closed.
I can still picture the inside of the store. Short counter on the right, old fashioned register and then rows and rows of candy loose in cute little boxes.
wax lips
candy cigarettes...remember blowing the confectioner's sugar?
flying saucers...wafers with the little beads in them
pixie stixs...the paper straws with...well, pure sugar in it.
wax bottles...bite the top off, drink the liquid and then chew the wax forever
caramel creams or bull's eye...these were my favorite. Still are.
squirrels...nutty caramels with the waxed paper wrappers
bubble gum cigars
Necco wafers...my mom always had these in the bottom of her purse. I ate them even with the purse lint. Lol !! Loved the black licorice flavor
What was your favorite penny candy? What nostalgic candies are from your past?

I put some green beans in the microwave for what I "thought" was 3 minutes and 30 seconds...3:30.
I some how pushed an extra zero...33:00.
Cooking other things I wasn't paying attention, but thankfully I caught them after 7 minutes before they burst into flames. Lol !!
There were some that were splattered all over and some that were so dried up I could have used them for some kind of craft project...like beads for jewelry making. Microwave was a mess.

It's been such a mild winter here in New England...pretty much all over the states. Some flowers are so confused, they are starting to come up in the yard. I'm hoping Spring isn't too far away.
I love flowers and tulips are my absolute favorite.

Alarm Clocks...a necessary evil.
I play mind games with my alarm clock. I set the time 30 minutes ahead, so I can do the math in my head as to what the time REALLY is! Wakes my mind up before my body.
Not to mention, I never really have a sound sleep. I'm always looking at the clock through the night..."oh, it says 2:30, so it's really 2:00. Yay, I still have 3 1/2 more hours to sleep!"
What really gets my goat is the 9 minutes snooze. Every clock I've ever had has been a 9 minute snooze. Why 9?
I think it's the alarm clock companies way of playing math mind games too. "Ok, it's 5:30 am when the alarm rings. I have 9 more minutes til it rings again. If I hit it 2 more times it will ring at 5:39 and 5:48. Perfect...I'm up before 6:00.
Was it a mistake when the first alarm clock was made? It really should have been a 10 minute snooze...much easier to add 10 to any time you set your alarm. Alarm rings at 5:30 am. I can let in ring 2 more times at 5:40 and 5:50. Perfect! I want a 10 minute snooze.
What better way to solve the Alarm Clock Snooze button mystery than to ask the blogging world.
Are all alarm clock snooze buttons 9 minutes and do you hate your alarm clock too?
and another thing. Why do I still wake up at 5:30 on the weekends when I don't need an alarm? The silver lining there is...no 9 minute snooze.

I hate it when you wear jeans that have just been washed...so tight and stiff you can barely zip them. You have to do that hop, dance, shake side to side thing just to get them up!!
Then wear them a couple times and it's like you lost 3 pounds. The jeans are all soft and loose. Makes me not want to wash them...ever.
Here's an extra Thought for Thursday...you know you're old when you wear clothes more than once without washing them. Lol !! I vowed when I was younger not to be like my parents and wear things more than once before washing...HELLO, I'm officially my parents!

Looking in your purse, pocketbook, tote bag, back pack, wallet etc...what is the most important thing in there that you wouldn't leave home without...besides money!

We all love crafting, sewing, quilting, scrap booking, knitting, embroidery, painting etc and we may dabble in a little bit of everything...however...
if you had to pick just one...what would your favorite be?
Ok, let me make it harder with a crazy story. You are going to be on a deserted island for one year and can only take one hobby (and all the things for that one hobby) with you...What would it be?
Oh, yeah...there will be electricity on this island. Let's not get too crazy with this story! (and my island will have potato chips too)
ONE hobby...ONE snack
Sorry, can't use your computer as your hobby. Lol !!
Mine are...quilting and Pringles chips
Let's hear from everyone to see what the most popular hobby is!!

Why doesn't peanut butter wash off the silverware in the dishwasher?
I think the peanut butter has some super power cape against the soap...I know it's oil, but come on, soap and scalding hot water? Why is it still there, caked on like it never went through that one hour cycle of power washing.
Forget about trying to get people (meaning my family) to wipe off the spoon before they plunk it in the washer.
I think I'm going to ban peanut butter in my house...LOL or put the crusty spoon at their place setting when I set the table for dinner!!
I know I'm lucky to have a dishwasher, but I do need it to work a little harder on the peanut butter.
How about you and your dishwasher? Does peanut butter bug you or am I the only "nut" case.
Maybe it's the soap door doesn't open, or spots on the glasses, or when the silverware slips in the big holes in the basket and they stop the rack from rolling, or when you break a glass "in" the dishwasher...maybe I should just hand wash my dishes LOL!!
